Privacy: what stays on your device
Exactly what Telmi keeps on your computer and what it sends to the AI.
The short version: on a Mac, audio never leaves your computer. Text excerpts go to the AI to write suggestions and notes. Your calls are saved on your computer, not on our servers.
Stays on your Mac
- Audio. Speech is transcribed on your Mac by Apple's on-device speech model. Audio is never uploaded.
- Your calls. Transcripts, notes, and summaries are files in
~/Telmi/calls. Delete a call's folder to delete the call. - Answer card matching. Saved answers are matched on your Mac with no AI request.
Goes to the AI
To write suggestions, notes, coaching, and chat answers, Telmi sends text to Google's Gemini through Telmi's server: excerpts of the transcript, your notes, the relevant parts of your knowledge packs, and for prep and chat, excerpts of past calls and your upcoming meetings. Telmi's server passes these through and doesn't log them.
On Windows
Windows has no on-device transcriber good enough for live calls, so the Windows app streams call audio to Deepgram for transcription. Calls are still saved on your computer.
What our servers keep
- Your account: email, name, and plan.
- A count of calls and how long each ran, to apply the free plan's 5 calls.
- Billing is handled by Stripe. We never see your card number.
Hiding from screen share
Turn on Hide Telmi's windows from screen sharing in Settings. This is best effort: some apps still capture them, so check once with a colleague before relying on it.
Tell people
Recording and transcription laws differ by place, and some, like California, require everyone's consent. Let people on the call know you're taking notes with Telmi.
